5 July 1940
Two patrols take place during the day.
The first begins at 12h25 with Flying Officer Herbert S. Giddings (P2801), Flying Officer Anthony Eyre (P3487) and Sergeant Derrick W. Halton (L2003). However, it is of short duration as everyone lands at 12h40.
The second one takes place later. Squadron Leader Joseph R. Kayll (P3109), Flying Officer Peter Collard (P2768?) and Pilot Officer Michael R. Mudie take off at 21h00. They return to Kenley at 21h50.
No details are available regarding these two patrols. It is noted, however, that the ORB of the No.11 (RAF) Group reports several bombs dropped on Selsey Bill, Middle Wallop and Godalming starting at 20h00 hours. It can be hypothesized that the second patrol is probably related to these events.
