Northern Front

No.223 (RAF) Squadron began the month with relatively intense activity. A formation of five Vickers Wellesleys took off at 07:35 to bomb the town of Kassala at about 09:35 at an altitude of about 2 600 metres. Although the bombs are reported to fall in the centre of the town, the crews are unable to assess the result. All the aircraft landed on Wadi Gazouza at 11:20 without incident.

Southern Front

As part of the preparation of the future offensive, a strategy of harassment of the Italian troops is organised thanks to the local irregular troops (East African Irregulars). A Junkers Ju.86, of No.12 (SAAF) Squadron, is tasked with dropping various boxes of ammunition in the vicinity of the Italian fort at El Hobok. At the same time, Martin Marylands of No.14 (SAAF) Squadron are tasked to photograph the Italian Somaliland coast between Kismaayo and and especially the different fords crossing the Jubba River.
