Ten aircraft take off from Kenley at 09:40 am to join Hawkinge to escort a Flight of twelve Bristol Blenheim in charge of an aerial photography mission over northern France. The mission went off without incident and everyone returned to Kenley by 12h25.[1]

The personnel of No.615 Squadron had the pleasure of receiving King George VI who, besides staying for tea, also took the opportunity to decorate Squadron Leader Joseph R. Kayll and Flight Lieutenant James G. Sanders with the DFC.
Another joyous event takes place when Flying Officer Peter Collard is granted permission to marry Annette Christina McNally. They then move to Whyteleafe Road (Caterham).
